Vegan Chicken Skin
Let's make crispy 'chicken' skin, perfect to level up your roast!

This ones so simple, I almost didn't include it here.

But I had been vegan for 8 years before I thought to do this... and it's a real gamechanger for faux meat textures.

Ingredients

Rice paper

Vegan chicken stock

Oil for pasting

Your choice of meat 'joint' - I used a This! roast in the video which worked amazingly!

Optional

Dried herbs, personally I like using Thyme.

Method

Dissolve your stock (a teaspoon/ stock cube amount) in luke warm water.

Add a sheet or rice paper and allow to soak

Drape the rice paper sheet over your chosen meat joint.

Baste with oil to help it get crispy

Cook as per instructions, keeping an eye on the texture of the skin so it goes crispy but doesn't burn.

5 mins before end of cook time, do another oil baste and allow to really crisp up!
