When I went vegan in January 2011, a whole new world opened up to me.
At first I tried to learn as many recipes as I could... but I soon realised the real key to plant-based cooking isn't exclusively in recipes at all. It's an arsenal of handy hacks and techniques you can use on repeat, without leaning on lengthy instructions that took the joy out of cooking, and added to the mental load of transitioning to plant-based.
That's why I started Vegan Hacks: to experiment with new, creative ways to cook without animal products, the easy way.
I really believe that with a few simple guides on hand, cooking anything with plants becomes simple, and delicious.
In October 2025, my husband and I bought a rural school in Sweden, we're slowly renovating it and starting a garden. My pumpkin patch is my pride & joy!
These days I split my time between the UK and Sweden, working in the animal rights movement, championing plant-based food, and chasing the thrill of auctions and the Swedish loppis (second-hand shops) along the way.
